About Us

Talbot Logan and Kiki Shilling launched John Archer Clothing on the heels of COVID, just when everyone was stepping back into a life of parties and dinners.  Kiki’s work as an interior decorator and accessories business owner, and Talbot’s experience in luxury menswear, were the perfect combination. Inspired by Palm Beach, Nantucket, and Newport style, John Archer Clothing opened in February 2024 with blazers as the line’s first introduction. Iconic designer prints and luxurious Belgian linen are sewn to create jackets that are both wearable and stylish.

John Archer takes its name from Talbot’s fifth great grandfather. Archer was described as a man of "medium size, of great bodily strength, and who had a large share of moral and physical courage. In his portraits, his [physiognomy] is remarkably stern." Family lore holds that to balance out his “stern” appearance and accentuate his physical strength, Archer spent much time with his tailor.  Together they created a wardrobe that complemented Archer's build and personal taste, ensuring he was always stylish, impeccably dressed, and properly turned out.  He was a remarkable man, the first to graduate from medical school in the United States! 

We are committed to excellent construction using only the best fabrics and craftsmanship. This is evidenced by signature details such as working sleeve buttons, felt collar backing with the John Archer logo, and gingham lining. We are very proud of and committed to making our clothing in America.
